New concessions and shuttle service among Memorial Stadium changes

In advance of the season, the University of Nebraska Athletic Department is highlighting changes fans can expect at the stadium this fall and reinforcing policies implemented in recent years.

There will be noticeable changes to city streets and construction work leading into and around the stadium, which will impact traffic flow. The City of Lincoln plans to provide an update Sept. 1. Nebraska Athletics and the city will use the Waze app to show traffic changes and updates. Fans should consider downloading the app to better plan their trips to and from the stadium.

The Big Red Rebuild construction project at Memorial Stadium will fully commence following the 2026 football season. Disruption for fans this season will be minimal; however, construction may affect some walking paths, parking and gate entries.

• Gates 1, 6 and 8 will be closed throughout the 2026 season.
• Gates 18, 19 and 21 will be closed after kickoff.
• Gates 17 and 22 are not open to the public.
• Gate 11 will be used only for an accessible and service entrance in 2026.

No re-entry

Memorial Stadium does not allow re-entry during football games. If a patron leaves the venue after initial entry, their game ticket becomes invalid. Patrons are reminded to bring everything they might need during the game before entering the stadium.

Alcohol service

Husker fans can purchase alcohol at all Nebraska athletic venues. A valid ID will be required for every alcohol purchase, regardless of age, and the service limit is two alcoholic beverages per person, per transaction. Trained staff will monitor points of sale. Alcohol service will be discontinued at the end of the third quarter or at the discretion of management.

Aramark S+E, Nebraska Athletics and Campus Recreation will continue to operate a designated driver program at guest service locations on the east, west and south concourses. A coupon will be given for a free small soft drink or water for adults who sign a pledge to be a designated driver.

Concessions

Aramark S+E is in its second season providing food and beverage service in Husker athletic venues. Traditional fan favorites such as Runza, Valentino’s Pizza and Fairbury Red Hot Dogs will continue to be available throughout Memorial Stadium. Aramark has a wide variety of food concepts at Husker athletic venues. Many concession items are available only at specialty stands, and not all traditional items will be available at every stand. New concession items

Memorial Stadium will feature several new concessions items in 2026, including the following:

General concessions:

• N-shaped pretzel (GBR Classic locations)
• Fairbury polish sausage (GBR Classic locations)
• Footlong ribwich (1923 Cheese Steaks, Section 22)
• Dry rubbed wings (Boneyard Wings, Section 5)
• Street corn (moving to Tunnel Taco Stands)

New brunch options for 11 a.m. kickoffs:

• Tunnel Walk breakfast tacos

Club Level (Sections 302, 327 and 403)

• Prime Time ribeye sandwich
• Dry rubbed wings (Sections 302 and 403 only)
• Big Red shortcake nachos
• Scotcharoo
• Big Red cookie

Club Level (Sections 407 and 305)

• Brisket loaded nachos
• Smoked brisket sandwich

Outside food and beverage

Food and beverages purchased from outside vendors are not allowed inside Memorial Stadium. This includes sample giveaways from sponsors. Personal empty water bottles are allowed into the stadium for fans to be able to refill at fountains inside. Certain situations may arise — such as extreme heat — that initiate exceptions to this policy. The university and Athletic Department will communicate to the public if exceptions will be made.

Cornhusker Kickoff presented by Bud Light

Husker fans will again have a pre-game destination for home games at Memorial Stadium. The Cornhusker Kickoff presented by Bud Light will take place inside of the Hawks Championship Center, directly northeast of the stadium. The Hawks Championship Center will open four hours prior to kickoff each game (or 8 a.m. for 11 a.m. kickoffs) and will close when the game begins. Fans do not need a game ticket to attend the event, but there is a maximum capacity. If that limit is reached, some fans may have to wait to enter until others exit.

Free for Husker fans, the area features live entertainment; kids’ activities; food and beverage; Husker merchandise; and appearances and autographs from current and former student-athletes and coaches.

Gate screening and clear bag policy

Nebraska Athletics uses walk-through gate screening technology at Memorial Stadium gates. The technology provides a more efficient screening process and enhances safety for Husker fans. Nebraska continues its clear bag policy for all ticketed athletic events. For more information, click here.

Backrest policy and rental

Personal backrests (any shape or size) are not allowed in Memorial Stadium. Backrests are available to rent on a single-game basis at locations inside the stadium concourse. Seat cushions without backs are permitted. East Stadium upper-level seats have backrests. Backrest rentals are $10 plus tax, and all transactions are cashless.

Husker Legacy Walk

The Nebraska football team will arrive about two hours and 15 minutes before kickoff in the East Stadium Loop for their “Husker Legacy Walk.” Players will exit the buses at the intersection of 14th and Vine streets, walk past the Nebraska Coliseum, through the Nebraska Athletics Hall of Fame, and enter the main lobby of the Osborne Legacy Complex. The Hall of Champions presented by Crete Carrier Corporation (main entrance) of the Osborne Legacy Complex is closed on game days but is open to visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays (except before home football games) and Sundays.

Ticket locations

Fans with ticketing questions on game day can visit ticket office windows at Gate 10 (northwest corner) or Gate 22 (East Stadium).

Fans visiting the Athletic Ticket Office or Huskers Athletic Fund staff during regular weekday hours should go to Gate 21 on the east side of Memorial Stadium. Designated parking stalls are available in Lot 12 (inner part of the East Stadium Loop, closest to the stadium).

Mobile ticketing and cashless operations

All tickets to home football games are through the official Huskers app. Fans are encouraged to download tickets and parking to their mobile device before arriving at the stadium. Memorial Stadium is a fully cashless venue. There are no ATMs in or around the venue.

Group tickets

Discounted ticket packages remain available for the first four home games for groups of 25 or more. Save up to $15 per ticket when bringing a large group to Memorial Stadium.

ADA accommodations and accessible parking

Season permits for patrons with state-issued accessible parking permits or license plates are available in donor lots 5, 8 and 9 on a limited basis and can be applied for through the Athletic Ticket Office and Hall of Fame Office. Lots 5 and 9 have free shuttle cart service for those with limited mobility to the northeast and east locations of Memorial Stadium.

Single-game accessible parking is available on campus on a first-come, first-served basis in the Lot 9 parking garage (14th Street and Avery Avenue) for $25 per game. This is the primary accessible parking option for fans.

Free accessible parking is also available at metered spots on 14th and Vine streets on a first-come, first-served basis.

iPronto game-day shuttles

StarTran will not operate the Big Red Express shuttle service in 2026; however, a new service will be available. iPronto will operate shuttles from four locations in Lincoln and plans to expand service to other cities, including Omaha, Kearney/Grand Island and Norfolk/Columbus.

• Maryland (Oct. 3): Homecoming, Red Cross Day, Nebraska Athletics Hall of Fame
