On February 27, the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools will host its inaugural All in for LPS Giving Day—a 24-hour, community-wide effort to support students, educators and Lincoln Public Schools.
The Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and a long-standing partner of the district. Through year-round fundraising, the Foundation invests in programs, resources, and opportunities that enhance learning and support Lincoln Public Schools.
What Is All in for LPS?
All in for LPS is a one-day giving event that invites Lincoln to rally behind public education. While the Foundation’s work continues throughout the year, this giving day creates a focused moment to come together and make a collective impact. Donations may be made in advance, allowing supporters to invest in efforts that support students, empower educators, and strengthen schools leading up to and on February 27.
This giving day brings together parents, alumni, educators, businesses, and local partners around a shared goal: championing Lincoln Public Schools.
Why It Matters
A strong district depends on more than academics alone. For students to succeed, educators to teach effectively, and schools to thrive, the proper supports must be in place, both inside and outside the classroom. The Foundation for LPS fills funding gaps by supporting critical student needs and opportunities that fall outside the district’s general fund commitments.
As Superintendent Dr. John Skretta has shared, “The Foundation delivers enrichment opportunities for students that extend upon and magnify what the district can otherwise commit resources to, creating the 'margin of excellence' for LPS students.”
Through All in for LPS, community support could provide emergency assistance to students and families facing unexpected challenges, equip educators with additional classroom resources and innovative learning opportunities that enhance instruction, support scholarships that open doors to post-secondary education and long-term success, and strengthen school-wide programs and enrichment experiences that promote well-being, engagement, and a positive learning environment.
“We’re incredibly excited to launch All in for LPS as a new annual tradition for our community,” said Natalia Wiita, President of the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools. “Lincoln has a long history of showing up for its public schools, and this giving day is an opportunity for parents, alumni, businesses, and neighbors to come together and invest in the students and educators who make our district strong.”
