Fire damages 3 homes
A large fire engulfed a Lincoln home on Tuesday morning, then spread to two more homes nearby.
The initial call came in around 7 a.m. regarding a house near the intersection of South 25th St. and L Street, about 1 mile east of downtown Lincoln.
The fire quickly spread to two nearby houses, but firefighters were able to get the fire under control by about 8:30 a.m.
At the time of the fire, the temperature in Lincoln was minus 6 with a wind chill of minus 26.

All occupants of the homes were able to evacuate and there were no injuries.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were battling a fire that engulfed three houses near 25th and L streets Tuesday morning.
Shooting victim identified
The Lincoln Police Department on Tuesday identified the Lincoln man who was killed Sunday during a crime spree that lasted more than an hour.
34-year-old Philmoon Kuku of Lincoln was fatally shot in the chest near 13th and E streets, LPD said.
41-year-old Timothy Washington was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
According to police, Kuku was involved in an argument with Washington, who was driving a black Chevy Impala, before the shooting.
Washington is currently being held at the Lancaster County jail.

Nebraska RBs coach staying
E.J. Barthel signed a new two-year deal to remain with the Cornhuskers football program.
Barthel will make $450,000 per year through the 2026 season, according to the contract provided by Nebraska on Tuesday.
Barthel was previously linked to assistant coach openings at Penn State and Texas.
