Dynamic indoor gym brings the sport of rock climbing to all ages and levels

MW Climbing is a beginner-friendly indoor climbing gym with more than 100 routes. They have two locations in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska, and change the routes weekly, offering a fun and welcoming space for climbers of all ages, experience levels and goals. Their motto is simple: Let’s climb together.  

Here’s a Q&A with the co-owner of MW climbing, Wendy Beio. 

How did your business get started?  

MW Climbing opened in June of 2021 in Lincoln, and we expanded to our Omaha location a few years later in July 2023. Our gyms were custom built by our team with continued support from our friends, family and community. We take great pride in what we've built and are excited to share our passion for climbing with the community.    

What makes MW Climbing unique?  

Our climbing gyms are a community-driven space, where folks from different backgrounds, interests and abilities can climb together. Climbing gyms also function as a social hub, where you can hang out with friends and family, meet new people, and collaborate on climbs.

Climbing is a great way to get a full-body workout, because different climbs will challenge and work multiple muscle groups. It's a great alternative or supplement to traditional workouts because you're so busy problem-solving how to get up the wall that you forget you're working out. And because the walls are refreshed weekly, there are always new challenges to take on.   

 What do you love about being part of the local business community?  

It's truly a dream to make a living working for something we're genuinely excited about and to provide the same opportunity for our team. Seeing the positive impact these gyms have made in creating lifelong climbers, new friendships and boosting self-confidence has been incredible. We look forward to continuing to provide that third space to many more people in the future.
