Sharetea opened its doors in Lincoln in July 2022, bringing the first Nebraska location to the corner of 19th and K streets. Owner Kim Le, who fell in love with the brand while visiting Texas, knew she needed to bring the experience home. Her order back then — a mango & passion fruit tea — sparked a passion that ultimately grew into a business.
A hallmark of Sharetea is its commitment to authenticity and quality. All ingredients, from teas and fruit jams to tapioca pearls, come directly from Taiwan — the birthplace of boba tea. Sharetea is known for its quality, Le said. “We make boba fresh throughout the day, and we use only the finest quality tea.”

Boba tea itself has a rich history. Originating in Taiwan in the early 1980s, the drink made its way to the United States through Taiwanese immigrants in the 1990s. Today, Sharetea is one of the most recognizable names in the industry, with more than 150 locations across the U.S. and around 400 worldwide.
The Lincoln shop has quickly become a favorite among students, especially those from Lincoln High, where the Oreo Ice Blended drink is a top pick. After-school crowds often gather inside the cheerful, colorful space, making it a popular hangout and, during the school year, a popular study spot.
If you’re new to boba or unsure what to try first, Le recommends the Classic Pearl Black Milk Tea, a smooth black tea mixed with brown sugar and perfectly chewy tapioca pearls (boba). Drinks can be customized by choosing your tea base, ice level, sweetness level and adding any variety of toppings will make your drink fun and bursting with flavor.
