What went wrong: Former Lincoln Star Shane Pinto scored twice for Tri-City in a penalty-filled contest Friday in Kearney. Ronnie Attard scored his 25th goal just 3 minutes, 37 seconds into the first period and Pinto scored his first of the game on the power play nearly two minutes later for a quick 2-0 lead. Pinto added his second goal midway through the second period, and Colby Ambrosio scored nearly 40 seconds later for a 4-1 lead. Lincoln was called for 12 penalties for 35 minutes, as Tri-City went 1-for-6 on the power play.
What went right: Steven Agriogianis cut the Storm lead to 2-1 in the first period with his third goal of the season at the 13:04 mark. Lincoln affiliate Arlo Merritt scored his first USHL goal in his first game in the third period. Samuel Hlaaj finished with 33 saves on 37 Storm shots.
Up next: Lincoln and Tri-City play again in Kearney at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
