The Lincoln Stars announced their 60-game regular-season schedule for the 2017-18 season Tuesday, with a home opener set for Oct. 6 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
The Stars will be playing in their 22nd season in the United States Hockey League.
Lincoln's schedule includes 30 home games, including three home-and-home series against the Omaha Lancers. The Stars and Lancers will match up nine times throughout the season, with four games at the Ice Box.
The Stars will face the Tri-City Storm and Des Moines Buccaneers eight times, with four games against the Sioux City Musketeers, Fargo Force, Sioux Falls Stampede and Waterloo Black Hawks.
They will play two games each against the Central Illinois Flying Aces, Chicago Steel, Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, Dubuque Fighting Saints, Green Bay Gamblers, Madison Capitols, Muskegon Lumberjacks, Youngstown Phantoms and the United States National Development Program U-17s.
The 2017-18 schedule will not be so daunting for the Stars, with the longest road trips of the season only four games long. Lincoln will have two of those, along with four three-game homestands.
All Friday home games begin at 7:35 p.m., with Sunday home games beginning at 2:05 p.m. All other home games are set for 7:05 p.m.
All 17 USHL teams will participate in the 2017 preseason Fall Classic at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, from Sept. 27 to Oct. 1. The preseason schedule will be announced at a later date.
