What went wrong: Sioux Falls' Artem Ivanyuzhenkov scored 21 seconds into regulation and the Stampede limited Lincoln offensively in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Blake Bride and Ryan Johnson added first-period goals to give Sioux Falls a 3-0 cushion, and the Stampede went on to outshoot Lincoln 11-3 in the period. Bride added his second goal in the third period to give Sioux Falls the 8-1 lead. Andre Lee, Ethan Phillips and former Star Mason Klee also scored in the third. Samuel Hlavaj was rocky in potentially his final start in net for Lincoln this season, but made 31 saves. Lincoln was outshot 39-11. The Stars have allowed 14 goals in the third period over their last two games. Hlavaj has been charged with 12 of them.
What went right: Ryan Carmichael matched Sioux Falls' tally in the second period to get Lincoln on the board. It was Carmichael's fifth goal of the season. Grant Johnson and Caleb Rule picked up assists.
