Friday: Des Moines 6, Lincoln 1.

What went wrong: After a scoreless first period, the Buccaneers scored six consecutive goals Friday, including four in the second period, to crush the Stars in Urbandale, Iowa. Jackson Perbix got the scoring going just over two minutes into the period and was followed by Reed Lebster, Patrick Schmiedlin and Rylee St. Onge. Isaac Novak and Mac Welsher made it 6-0 with goals in the first 5:15 of the third period. Perbix had two assists, and Novak and Welsher each had one. The Buccaneers outshot the Stars 32-26 (including 26-17 in the first two periods) and held Lincoln to 0-for-5 on the power play. Des Moines won the season series 7-1. The Stars have lost six straight.

What went right: Hunter Skinner broke the shutout with his fifth goal of the season at 8:04 of the third period. Brock Bremer and Josh Lopina had the assists.

Up next: The Stars return home to battle Fargo at 7 p.m. Saturday.
