Saturday: Sioux City 4, Lincoln 2.
What went wrong: Sioux City scored three straight goals, including two in the third period from Bobby Brink that gave the Musketeers a 3-1 lead. Brink scored shorthanded less than three minutes into the third period to give Sioux City its first lead and scored on the power play nearly three minutes later. Brink later completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal. Kevin Lombardi scored unassisted in the second period to knot the score 1-1.
What went right: Josiah Slavin redirected a shot in front of the net for his fourth goal of the season and cut into Sioux City's lead to make it 3-2 with just over three minutes to play in regulation. Grant Johnson scored his first goal of the season just before the midway mark in the first period to give Lincoln a 1-0 lead. Matthew Barbolini picked up his second assist of the season, and Ben Badalamenti tallied his first on Johnson's goal. Jacob Mucitelli stopped 20 of 23 Sioux City shots he faced.
