Wednesday: Lincoln 5, Wichita 2, 7 inn. (first game); Lincoln 7, Wichita 1, 7 inn. (second game)

What went right: Lincoln took both games of the doubleheader over the Wingnuts, who are currently in third-place in the South Division, with early runs. The Saltdogs scored three runs in the second inning in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader as five Lincoln batters got a hit off Wichita pitching. Shairon Martis picked up the win for Lincoln with four innings of one-hit relief. Lincoln scored four runs through three innings in the second game, led by Christian Ibarra's leadoff homer to start the game. 

What went wrong: First-game starter Eric Wooten didn't record an out in the first game, giving up one earned run before being pulled. Lincoln also struggled on offense outside of the second inning. The Saltdogs mustered together only three hits outside of the three-run inning in the first game.

Streaks: Martis has given up one run in his past 13 innings of work over seven appearances. Brandon Jacobs homered in both games of the doubleheader to give him 18 round-trippers on the year.

Dog bytes: This is the Lincoln's second doubleheader on the year. The first one was split with St. Paul on June 20. … Lincoln signed catcher Jackson Pritchard on Wednesday. Pritchard previously played in the Canadian-American League.
