Sunday: Lincoln 11-5, Texas 2-6.
What went right: Dan Johnson threw a gem in game two of the doubleheader, throwing five innings, before Texas washed away Lincoln's lead late with a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Saltdogs took a 4-0 lead and expanded it to 5-1 before the AirHogs' rallied late Sunday. Lincoln exploded for seven runs in the sixth inning in game one to pull away from the AirHogs. Following a bases-loaded walk to Daniel Herra and an Alex Glenn sacrifice fly, Christian Ibarra, Curt Smith and Randolph Oduber each hit RBI singles. T.J. Bennett later grounded into a fielders choice that allowed Brandon Jacobs to score and cap off the big inning. Derek Gordon picked up the victory, throwing 2.1 innings of relief and struck out four of the seven batters he faced to move to 7-1 on the season. Gordon inherited a 4-2 lead in the fourth after Austin Robichaux went 4.2 innings, allowing six hits and two runs.
