What went right: Joe Bircher, Derek Gordon and Trevor Lubking combined to limit the AirHogs to two hits while striking out 13 at Haymarket Park.
Meanwhile, eight different Saltdogs recorded a hit, including designate hitter Curt Smith, who had a team-high three hits while adding two RBIs. Lincoln finished with 13 hits, and eight of them were doubles.
Bircher improved to 6-7. The left-hander pitched six innings, striking out eight batters. Gordon pitched two scoreless innings, and Lubking pitched a scoreless ninth.
The Saltdogs took a 4-0 lead into the seventh inning before breaking open the game with five runs in the frame. Smith and Dashenko Ricardo each had two-run hits in the inning.
