Wednesday: Lincoln 14, Fargo-Moorhead 7.

What went right: Runs came in fours for the Saltdogs. In the fourth inning, they scored four unearned runs on five hits and two RedHawk errors. With two runs already in, Ivan Marin on first base and two outs, Fargo pitcher Will Solomon's error allowed Colton Burns to reach safely and Marin to advance to third. Marin and Burns then scored on RBI singles by Randolph Oduber and Cody Regis for a 4-0 lead. Then, up 4-2 in the top of the fifth, the Saltdogs added four more runs on Tyler Moore's two-run homer and Oduber's two-run single. The sixth was another four-run inning (three of them unearned), with Burns getting the big hit with a two-out, two-run triple. Curt Smith added a two-run homer in the ninth. Oduber finished 4-for-6 with three RBIs.

What went wrong: Rookie Saltdog starter Tyler Cronin only last 4 2/3 innings, but did strike out three while giving up just two earned runs.

What's next: The Saltdogs open a three-game series against Texas at Haymarket Park at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
