Saturday: Lincoln's game at Texas on Saturday was postponed due to rain. The teams will play two seven-inning games Sunday, with the first starting at 4 p.m. This is the fifth postponement for the Saltdogs this season.
Dog bytes: Rain has been kind to the Saltdogs this season; they've gone 6-2 in doubleheaders this season. Most notably Lincoln defeated Wichita twice, 5-2 and 7-1 after the opening game of the series Aug. 14 was washed out. Curt Smith, who just played in his 1,000th professional game Friday, went 6-for-7 with two home runs in that doubleheader. Smith has played 467 of his professional games in a Saltdogs uniform.
