Wednesday: Sioux City 9, Lincoln 1.
What went wrong: John Brownell gave up eight runs in the first two innings and 12 hits in his four innings. Lincoln allowed 17 hits and three walks while striking out eight. Sioux City also stole three bases. The Saltdogs left eight runners on base, struck out 11 times and hit into two double plays. Their first run didn't cross the plate until the top of the sixth after trailing 9-0.
What went right: Randolph Oduber, John Sansone and Ivan Marin each had doubles for the Saltdogs. The three combined for five of the team's hits. The defense turned two double plays and held Sioux City scoreless in the last three innings.
What's next: The four-game series concludes Thursday with first pitch set for 7:12 p.m.
