More than 1,170 competitors are registered to compete in this week's SCCA Solo National Championships at the Lincoln Airpark.
Drivers will compete in 71 classes over four days of competition. Heats begin at 8 a.m. today through Friday, with afternoon events also scheduled each day until around 4 or 5.
Awards ceremonies are planned Wednesday and Friday evenings at the Lied Center.

Participants will come from all corners, even Hawaii and Alaska, to test their driving ability and their car's handling on side-by-side courses.
An average run at highway speed lasts around 60 seconds.
Cars are grouped by class, and participants race against time, with penalties for hitting bright-orange cones.
The heats are not necessarily spectator events, but the curious are welcome.
