True freshman Brian Covarrubias booted a 24-yard field goal with eight seconds left to help Nebraska-Kearney edge Washburn 17-16 on Saturday in Topeka, Kansas. The Lopers and Ichabods both finish with 5-6 records, with UNK snapping a nine-game losing streak in the series. The Ichabods scored 16 unanswered points to take a 16-14 lead with 4:34 left, before the Lopers had a 14-play, 61-yard drive that led to the eventual game-winner.

Sioux Falls 26, Wayne State 7: Gabriel Watson led Sioux Falls' (7-4) balanced attack with 149 yards on 33 carries and one touchdown in a home win against Wayne State (3-8). Caden Walters completed 18 of 26 passes for 190 yards and a TD. The Wildcats fell flat on offense with just 149 total yards. Wayne State's Nate Rogers fell 8 yards short of equaling Tavarus Johnson’s (2,464) career receiving yards.

Northwestern 31, Briar Cliff 14: Northwestern's (9-1) win in Orange City, Iowa, secured its bid into the NAIA Football Championship Series, beginning next weekend. Tyson Kooima paced the Red Raiders with his arm once again, finishing 24-for-29 with 336 yards and four touchdowns. Shane Solberg had 11 catches for 145 yards and all four scores. Jacob Kalagonis rounded out Northwestern's offensive attack with 17 carries for 75 yards.

Morningside 49, Jamestown 13: The Mustangs moved to 11-0 and await their playoff pairing as the top-ranked team in NAIA. Morningside jumped out to a 21-0 lead on the road against Jamestown (3-8) and didn't look back. Trent Solsma passed for 255 yards and four touchdowns, tying a national and school record for passing touchdowns (55). Anthony Sims added nine carries for 136 yards and one score.

Dordt 27, Midland 21: Dordt (7-3) raced out to a 13-0 lead before. Midland (7-4) briefly took the 14-13 advantage in the third quarter after two rushing touchdowns. Dordt then scored 14 unanswered points. Keithen Drury set the tone for Dordt with 26 carries for 157 yards and a touchdown. Midland's Keenan Smith rushed 23 times for 216 yards and two TDs.

Hastings 21, Dakota Wesleyan 13: Hastings (5-6) finished the season with one last victory in Mitchell, South Dakota, despite being outgained 336-282. Dakota Wesleyan's (2-9) Luke Loudenburg punched in two touchdowns, including one to cut into the 21-6 deficit. 

Colorado School of Mines 49, Chadron State 20: Colorado School of Mines (10-) outrushed the Eagles (7-3) 391-52 and forced five turnovers to control the game. Cameron Mayberry rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns, and Brody Oliver caught six balls for 145 yards and a touchdown. Dalton Holst passed for 412 yards and a pair of scores for Chadron State.

Benedictine 28, Peru State 3: Benedictine took a 28-3 lead into halftime and controlled the ground game. Peru State (3-8) turned the ball over three times.
