The Nebraska wrestling team has added an NCAA runner-up competitor to its roster.
Husker coach Mark Manning announced former West Virginia grappler Zeke Moisey is joining the NU program as a graduate transfer. He'll be immediately eligible for the 2018-19 season.
The Northampton, Pennsylvania, native has qualified for the NCAA Championships three times. That includes a runner-up finish at 125 pounds in 2015 as a freshman when Moisey entered the tournament unseeded and defeated four seeded wrestlers, including Iowa standout and Omaha native Thomas Gilman in the semifinals.
Moisey became the first unseeded wrestler to make the NCAA finals since 2003 and he became West Virginia's first All-American since 2007. He took a medical redshirt in 2016-17, and finished eighth at 125 pounds at nationals last March.
"We're extremely excited to have Zeke join our program," Manning said in a statement. "He comes to Nebraska as a two-time All-American and a national runner-up. Zeke can be very instrumental in our team's success next year and will provide leadership in the lighter weight classes."
