Jason Renteria, who recently completed his true freshman season with the Nebraska wrestling team, announced Sunday on Twitter that he's transferring to Iowa.
Renteria, who was a one-time Iowa commit before ultimately signing with Nebraska, went 8-4 last season. He came on strong late with a fifth-place finish at 133 pounds at the Big Ten Championships.
He missed weight at the NCAA Championships and did not compete.
According to the Des Moines Register, Renteria was granted his full release from Nebraska following the 2017-18 season.
The Huskers have four other wrestlers listed at 133 pounds on their roster. They also have a couple recruits coming in that wrestled at 132 pounds in high school.
