U.S. Senior Freestyle World Team Trials, 6/10

James Green competes in the U.S. Freestyle World Team Trials in Lincoln in 2016.

James Green will be wrestling in a familiar city in June.

The former Husker qualified for the Final X: Lincoln event by winning two matches at the USA Wrestling Senior Freestyle World Team Trials on Sunday in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Green earned a technical fall (30 seconds) victory over Anthony Ashnault at 70 kilograms in a best-of-three matchup. Green was up 4-0 in the second match when he caught Ashnault with a leg lace. Ashnault was injured and Green clinched the match by injury default.

The victory wrapped up a 4-0 tournament for Green, who won his quarterfinal match 5-3 before storming past Brandon Sorensen vial technical fall in the semifinals, setting up the matchup against Ashnault.
