Former Husker Jordan Burroughs rebounded from his loss in the quarterfinals to take a bronze medal at the World Wrestling Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Burroughs defeated Bulgaria's Miroslav Kirov 9-0 on Sunday to advance to the 74-kilogram medal round before edging Cuba's Frank Chamizo.
Burroughs led Chamizo 1-0 at the break and went up 3-0 on a takedown. But Chamizo battled back and took a 4-3 lead. Burroughs knotted the score at 4-4 and won the match by criteria.
Burroughs now has seven World and Olympic medals.
Former Husker James Green was schedule to begin competing at 70-kg early Monday morning.
