Nebraska guard Sam Haiby was named the Big Ten Conference women’s basketball co-freshman of the week.
She averaged 15.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game with a 66.7 percent field goal percentage last week as the Huskers split two Big Ten games.
She scored 13 points, and was a season-best 3-for-4 on three-pointers in Nebraska’s win at Purdue. Haiby also had a team-high 17 points in Sunday’s loss against Indiana.
It’s the first Big Ten honor for Haiby, who is Nebraska’s second-leading scorer at 10.0 points per game. Haiby shared the award with Michigan forward Naz Hillmon.
Iowa forward Megan Gustafson is the Big Ten player of the week. She earned her 20th career Big Ten player of the week award and 10th this season, setting conference single-season and career records in both categories
Gustafson leads the country in scoring at 26.4 points per game.
