Scouting: The Spartans have struggled out of the gate, losing six of their first seven games. The only win came against CSU Bakersfield (82-72) on Nov. 24. San Jose State, which lost to Nebraska 81-55 last year, has only one senior on the roster (Andrea Kohlhaas), and she comes off the bench. The young Spartans have struggled defensively, giving up 78.7 points per game, though, they're holding opponents to 26.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc. Nebraska will likely see several Spartans at different times Saturday (noon at Pinnacle Bank Arena). SJSU's rotation goes about 11 deep.

Trending: Husker senior Maddie Simon has scored in double figures four times this season. The Lincoln Pius X graduate's career-high — 20 points — came against San Jose State last year. Sophomore Taylor Kissinger scored 11 points against Kansas on Wednesday. It was her first game scoring in double figures since scoring 22 against USC Upstate two games into the season. Nebraska's four freshmen — Sam Haiby, Ashtyn Veerbeek, Leigha Brown and Kayla Mershon — have combined to average 27.0 points and 13.3 rebounds per game for the Huskers.

Forecasting: Nebraska is coming off a game in which it pulled down 64 rebounds against Kansas. The Spartans, meanwhile, are getting outrebounded by nearly 12 boards per game. The Huskers have a chance to use their size against a smaller SJSU team. Nebraska has won by 22 and 26 points in its previous two meetings against SJSU. With a week between games, the Huskers could use a strong performance entering finals week.
