Scouting: Sophomore guard Karissa McLaughlin leads Purdue in scoring on the season (15.7 points per game) while adding a team-best 4.1 assists. McLaughlin, who leads the Boilermakers with 64 threes on the season, is playing 38.9 minutes per game in Big Ten play. She has made 37.6 percent of her threes on the year and 92 percent (69-75) of her free throws. McLaughlin had 15 points and five assists in the first game against Nebraska.

Trending: Nebraska and Purdue each rank in the top three in the Big Ten in blocked shots. Purdue leads the league with 5.3 blocks per game, and Nebraska ranks third with 5.1. Kate Cain leads the Huskers with 57 blocks, Ashtyn Veerbeek has 23 and Nicea Eliely has 12. Cain is averaging 3.1 blocks per game, which is down from 2.4 last season when she had a school-record 100 blocked shots.

Forecasting: It was only 10 days ago when Nebraska beat Purdue 84-64, but Nebraska has lost both games it played since then. The game against Purdue was one of the best games Nebraska played all season, with the Huskers scoring 84 points against one of the best defensive teams in the Big Ten. Nebraska had success in that game by tying a season-high with 11 three pointers and holding Purdue to just six points in the first quarter. Hannah Whitish had one of the best games of her career with 28 points and 12 assists. Purdue beat last-place Illinois 72-50 on Thursday, but lost three straight games before that. Purdue is tied for fourth place in the Big Ten standings at 7-5. Nebraska is tied for 10th at 5-7.

At the game: Fans are encouraged to wear pink to Sunday’s game to support cancer awareness on Play4Kay day. Also, nearly 40 former Nebraska women’s basketball players will be recognized on the court at halftime of Sunday’s game. The alumni will take part in alumni weekend festivities on Saturday and Sunday.
