Creighton passed its first test of the NCAA volleyball tournament with a sweep of South Dakota in Omaha.
The ninth-ranked Bluejays won 25-14, 25-14, 25-22, outhitting South Dakota .375 to .133. Taryn Kloth had 16 kills to lead the way on 23 attacks, and Jaali Winters added 12. Winters also added seven digs.
Creighton caught fire in the second set, when it hit .593 (17-of-27).
Samantha Bohnet led Creighton with 12 digs, and Kloth added two of her team's four service aces. The Coyotes did not register an ace.
Creighton will face Washington, who beat Saint Mary's 25-22, 25-17, 24-26, 25-22. The two teams will face off Saturday at 7 p.m. in Omaha.
Creighton improved to 29-4 on the season, while South Dakota finished 21-10.
