"Star rookie" Jack Hoffman represented Nebraska yet again Saturday, this time taking the mound in his grey T-shirt with a red "N" during the Nebraska-Michigan softball game.
The 7-year-old's 69-yard touchdown at the Red-White Spring Game earlier this month captured hearts at Memorial Stadium and across the country.
On Saturday, fans at Bowlin Stadium chanted his name as he picked up the bright-yellow softball then dropped it, again and again, into his baseball glove, preparing to throw the ceremonial first pitch.
With his eyes forward and a steady arm, he released the ball, sending the crowd into cheers.
Nebraska softball players wore gray uniforms similar to Hoffman's outfit in honor of National Brain Tumor Awareness Month in May.
