During the first handful of matches for the Nebraska soccer team, the Huskers outplayed their opponents. That was not the case on Sunday night on the road against the Baylor Bears as NU was crushed 6-0 in Waco, Texas.

Less than 10 minutes into the game, Baylor's Sarah King found the back of the net to give the Bears an early lead. Three minutes later, Julie James tacked on another.

From that point on, it was all Bears, all the time. The Huskers struggled to get shots off in the first 45 minutes, while Baylor finished with eight after one half. Four of those shots wound up as goals.

In the 37th minute, Jackie Crowther used a pass from Raegan Padgett to find the back of the net and extend the lead to three. Not even one minute later, Giuliana Cunningham put the nail in the Huskers' coffin with her second goal of the season.

At the break, NU goalkeeper Aubrei Corder had given up four goals and recorded zero saves.

In the second half, it didn't take the Bears long to add to the blowout. In the 49th minute, James added her second goal of the night on a header that was assisted by Jennifer Wandt.

For good measure, Crowther added in the sixth goal of the game for Baylor in the 78th minute.

With the 6-0 defeat, the Huskers sit at 3-2-1 and will stay on the road to battle Duke on Thursday. Including the Baylor match, NU is in the midst of a five-game road swing that will conclude on Sept. 20.
