Michigan State vs. Nebraska, 11.17

Nebraska head coach Scott Frost celebrates a 9-6 win over Michigan State with Ron Brown at Memorial Stadium.

This National Signing Day will not really resemble much of what Nebraska fans have become accustomed to recently.

Last year, the first with a December signing date, featured plenty of action both in December and in February given that newly hired Scott Frost and his staff were trying to put together virtually an entire class.

This year, NU signed 26 players in December and left themselves with only finishing work to do over the past seven weeks.

Some mile markers to keep an eye on today:

10 a.m. -- Wide receiver Demariyon Houston (Oklahoma City) will announce his decision. Update: Houston signed with Nebraska.

2 p.m. -- Frost news conference

Houston is in: The Huskers made their first splash of the day when Houston, the speedy receiver from Oklahoma City, announced his commitment to NU at 10 a.m.

He might be the only player the Huskers add to the class for now, which would give Nebraska three scholarships worth of flexibility through spring ball and over the summer.

The Huskers also announced a 23-man walk-on class, which included 15 newly official players. Of the group, 21 had been previously reported and NU also signed running back Cooper Jewett (Elkhorn South) and linebacker Braden Sellon (Lincoln East).

The only remaining walk-on verbal commit who was not introduced is a unique situation in juco walk-on offensive lineman Josh Wegener, who is expected to formally join the program this summer.
