Nebraska has spent the early part of the week extending scholarship offers to many 2020 prospects, along with some 2021s and even 2022s.

The Husker staff is around the country — running backs coach Ryan Held was in Ohio, Travis Fisher and Erik Chinander (and likely Scott Frost) in Alabama, etc. — but it was easy to notice that many of the new offers came in Texas.

NU has one 2019 signee from the Lone Star state in defensive lineman Brant Banks and signed one in 2018 (safety Cam'Ron Jones), but it appears the staff is ramping up to be even more involved in the talent-rich state going forward.

It appears the Huskers were recruiting the St. Louis area hard on Wednesday.

Final Rivals rankings: The Huskers have four 2019 signees listed among the top 250 players according to Rivals, which this week updated its rankings for the current cycle a final time.

All-purpose back Wandale Robinson leads the highly regarded crop of Husker signees as the No. 61 player overall in the nation. Defensive end Ty Robinson checks in at No. 91, in-state linebacker Nick Henrich at No. 127 and offensive lineman Bryce Benhart at No. 139.

Benhart made the biggest jump in the updated rankings, moving from three-star status to the top 150, while both Robinsons also saw sizable improvements. Henrich held steady.

Nebraska still has an excellent chance to land a fifth, as well. Four-star defensive back Noa Pola-Gates, who makes his announcement Saturday at the Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii and has the Huskers in his final three, checks in at No. 116.

The Huskers currently are at No. 18 in Rivals' team rankings, good for No. 3 in the Big Ten behind Michigan and Penn State.

Robinson is one of three Nebraska signees in the past 10 years to earn a 6.0 rating from Rivals, joining Tyjon Lindsey (2017) and Terrell Newby (2013). Henrich is the highest-ranked in-state signee since Baker Steinkuhler in 2008.

Of the players in the top 250 this year, Wandale Robinson and Henrich are already on campus as early enrollees.
