Garrett Snodgrass picked up quarterback duties at York this year, and it's paying off for the Dukes.
Snodgrass, a Nebraska recruit, set a school record for single-game total yardage in the Dukes' thrilling 42-40 win against Central Conference rival Seward on Friday. Snodgrass finished with 405 total yards (122 rushing and 283 passing). The senior rushed for three touchdowns and threw for two more.
Snodgrass also set the York career scoring record with 278 points.
Husker defensive end recruit Mosai Newsom (Waverly, Iowa) returned an interception 53 yards, setting up a touchdown in Waverly-Shell Rock's 27-0 win against Independence.
According to the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, Newsom is playing at outside linebacker.
“Outside linebacker is a new spot for me so I’m still kind of learning," Newsom told the newspaper. "It was fun. Everyone flew around, everyone played hard. Our linebackers filled like crazy. Our d-line did their job, our dbs did a great job."
