A pair of Nebraska running back recruits were off and running this past weekend.
Dedrick Mills (Garden City Community College) kept busy in the Broncbusters' 51-15 win against Coffeyville, rushing 44 times for 262 yards and four touchdowns.
"It's a beautiful thing to watch," Garden City offensive lineman Lacolby Tucker said of Mills. "We create little lanes, and he does the rest."
Raise your hand if you, like Mills, rushed for 250-plus yards.
Rahmir Johnson (Oradell, New Jersey) can.
The Husker running back recruit rushed for 261 yards and two touchdowns in Bergen Catholic's 42-7 win against DePaul Catholic in a matchup of defending champions in the state of New Jersey.
Johnson scored on a 95-yard run midway through the first quarter, and the rout was on.
“I think a lot of that is, when you’ve got a guy like Rahmir, the safeties have to be cognizant that he’s a tough guy to tackle and you can’t give him too much room,” Bergen coach Vito Campanile told northjersey.com.
