Nebraska's walk-on class got stronger on Christmas Eve.
Lincoln Pius X standout quarterback Austin Jablonski announced on Twitter Monday evening that he will walk on with the Huskers in 2019.
A huge thank you to my family, friends, and coaches who have helped me become who I am today. I would also like to thank the schools that have offered for their time and consideration. That being said, I am proud to announce my commitment to the University of Nebraska! #HOMEGROWN pic.twitter.com/KPmxcZaPGv— Austin Jablonski (@jaboman22) December 25, 2018
Jablonski was one of the top quarterbacks in Class A this past season. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder completed 57 percent of his throws for 1,807 yards and 20 touchdowns while throwing only five interceptions.
He was easily Pius X's top running threat, too, finishing with 592 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 143 carries.
Jablonski also is a starter for the Bolts' basketball team.
Jablonski participated in Nebraska's Friday Night Lights camp last summer. He had an offer from Nebraska-Kearney.
