Former Nebraska basketball forward Walter Pitchford was among five players invited to training camp for Raptors 905, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors.
Pitchford played two seasons at Nebraska and left the team after his junior season, initially declaring in April for the NBA Draft before withdrawing his name.
The 6-foot-10 forward averaged 7.2 points and 4.6 rebounds as a junior. Pitchford, who transferred from Florida, averaged 9.3 points and 4.7 rebounds as a sophomore with the Huskers.
Pitchford was among 75 participants at an open tryout held Saturday. Pending league approval, he will be included on the team’s training camp roster in November:
