On Saturday, Donovan Williams shared his excitement with the rest of Lincoln when Nebraska hired Fred Hoiberg as the 28th men's head basketball coach in program history.
He told the Journal Star then just how excited he was to play for a coach with Hoiberg's pedigree and that he was going to wait and see where he fit into Hoiberg's plans.
On Monday, the new Nebraska coach reached out to the 6-foot-5 shooting guard to introduce himself. Early impression for Williams of the new head coach?
"Seems like a great guy, one of those people you can just tell their character by talking over the phone," Williams told the Journal Star. "I think we're going to get along really well and do something great at Nebraska together."
