Former Nebraska walk-on guard and Elkhorn South graduate Justin Costello has signed with McCook Community College after entering the transfer portal on May 3.

Costello appeared in 10 games for the Huskers, playing a total of 28 minutes with nine points, four assists, two rebounds and one steal. Costello was one of two in-state players to transfer from Nebraska, as Brady Heiman signed with South Dakota in May.

Costello, a 6-foot-1 Omaha native, was a four-year starter for the Storm and received Class B all-state first-team honors. He averaged 18.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game, and made 67 three-pointers his senior season. He also was a part of the 2015-16 team that won the Class B state title.
