Grand Island vs. Omaha Burke, 11.19

Omaha Burke wide receiver Xavier Watts (4) runs past Grand Island cornerback Ace McKinnis for a third-quarter touchdown during the Class A state championship at Memorial Stadium on Nov. 19, 2018.

The next year is going to feature a whole lot of options for Xavier Watts.

This was already clear, given that the 2020 Omaha Burke standout entered the week sporting scholarship offers from Nebraska, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Iowa State and others.

The list just keeps growing, too.

Watts, a 6-foot, 200-pound wide receiver and defensive back and a first-team Super State pick by the Journal Star as a junior, added offers from Iowa and Tennessee -- his first from the SEC -- on Tuesday and earlier in the week also picked up an offer from Kansas.

Watts is up past 10 Power Five conference offers now and shows no signs of a recruitment that's anywhere near slowing down.

He finished his junior year with a flourish, dominating the Class A state championship game with 11 catches for 159 yards and a pair of long touchdowns to help lift Burke to its first ever state championship.

For the season, Watts finished with 1,093 receiving yards (14.3 per catch) and 14 touchdowns in 13 games for the Bulldogs. He also had 58 tackles (4.5 for loss) and five interceptions.

Watts is one of two 2020 prospects from Nebraska with a Husker offer, joining Bellevue West wide receiver Zavier Betts.
