Joe Ganz is back on Bo Pelini's staff, making the announcement on Monday afternoon that he will now be coaching at Youngstown State.
Ganz confirmed to the Journal Star he'll be coaching tight ends on Pelini's staff.
A popular former Husker quarterback, who ran with his chance late in his junior year, Ganz threw for 3,568 yards in his senior season on Pelini's first Nebraska team in 2008. His completion percentage of 67.8 is still the highest in a single season at NU.
A week ago, Ganz tweeted this:

It's been real Nebraska. Thanks to the people in this state and the fans for a great last 12 years. I'm gonna miss this place! GBR ✌🏻— Joe Ganz (@CoachJoeGanz) February 26, 2016
After his Husker playing career, Ganz spent five years on Pelini's staff in Lincoln, specifically coaching the quarterbacks as a graduate assistant the last few years through 2014.
A quote from a story about Ganz the coach from 2013 applies well. Ganz said then, “The bad part about our profession is a lot of it depends on other people – other people getting jobs, other people who know you that know somebody. That’s the hard part. But you just have to keep working hard at it.
"It’s kind of reflective of my career as a player. I didn’t get a lot of opportunities when I was young and then, all of a sudden, it came to me and I made the most of it."
