Wisconsin vs. Nebraska, 1.29

Nebraska assistant coach Michael Lewis talks to Husker guard James Palmer in the second half Jan. 29 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Former Nebraska men's basketball assistant coach Michael Lewis is headed to Westwood.

Lewis was named an assistant coach at UCLA on Thursday. He joins the staff of Mick Cronin, who was hired earlier this spring to take over the Bruins' program.

Lewis, 41, worked the previous three seasons under Tim Miles at Nebraska, serving as Miles' offensive coordinator for two seasons.

"This is an unbelievable opportunity for me and my family," Lewis said in statement. "I am very grateful to Coach Cronin to be able to join the coaching staff at UCLA. He has a clear vision for how to build a consistent winner."

Former Husker assistant Jim Molinari landed at Oklahoma in April.
