The Nebraska soccer team dropped its last road game of the season 1-0 to Wisconsin on Thursday night in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Badgers' Lauren Rice struck at the 24:15 minute mark of the first half to provide the only score of the contest on an assist by Victoria Pickett. It was Rice's seventh goal of the season.
The Huskers (8-5-5) had no shortage of opportunities to score, as they out-shot Wisconsin 9-8 and had five shots on goal to the Badgers' three. Meg Brandt had three shots, including one on goal for Nebraska.
The loss will not drop Nebraska's sixth-place standing in the Big Ten, where it holds a 4-2-3 league record. Wisconsin kept pace with Rutgers at 6-1-3 in the conference to remain in second place.
The Huskers are now winless in their last four outings, with two ties and two losses, dating back to Sept. 30 against Ohio State. Nebraska's last win came on the road against then-No. 24 Penn State.
Nebraska will close out the regular season with two home games. The first will be Sunday against Illinois, and the finale will be against Michigan State on Wednesday.
