Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational, 2/3/18

Nebraska's Landon Bartel finished second to teammate Grant Anderson on  Feb. 3 during the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational at the Devaney Sports Center.

The Nebraska track and field team will get a final tuneup in before next week's Big Ten Indoor Championships in Geneva, Ohio.

The Huskers will host the Nebraska Tune-up beginning at noon Friday at the Devaney Sports Center. The meet will include Iowa State, Nebraska-Omaha, South Dakota, Missouri-Kansas City and some state colleges.

Eight Huskers are ranked in the top 16 nationally in their respective events. Indoor competitors need to rank in the top 16 to earn a spot in the NCAA championships.

Among the team leaders is Petra Luteran, who ranks fifth nationally in the high jump (6 feet, ¾ inches). On the men's side, Landon Bartel ranks seventh nationally in the high jump (7-3¾).

Doane hosting GPAC meet: Doane will get a chance to defend its men's and women's indoor conference championships on its home oval this year.

The Great Plains Athletic Conference indoor championships will take place Friday and Saturday at Fuhrer Fieldhouse in Crete.

The heptathlon and pentathlon events will take place Friday. Field events will start at noon Saturday, and running events will start at 2 p.m.

The Tiger women and men swept last year's conference championships.
