Nate Lashley shot a one-over-par 72 Sunday in the final round of the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach in California.

Lashley, a Scottsbluff native, was tied for 28th after finishing the tournament one-under-par. He hit 86% of his fairways and 72% of greens in regulation in the final round but suffered bogeys on Nos. 15 and 17 before sinking a birdie on the final hole. Lashley finished one shot behind Tiger Woods and Jason Day, who each finished with final rounds of 69 Sunday.

The 28th-place finish at the U.S. Open is the best by a Nebraska native since 2004, when Mark Calcavecchia tied for 20th.
