The Nebraska track and field teams take on some of the nation's top competitors at the Crimson Tide Invitational starting Thursday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
The 10-team field includes Alabama (the fifth-ranked men's team and eighth-ranked women's), Florida State (No. 8 men and No. 7 women), Indiana State, Kentucky (No. 24 men and No. 9 women) Memphis, Mississippi State (No. 11 men) and Southern Mississippi.
Elijah Lucy will lead Husker men after being ranked sixth in the long jump after his 25-foot, 8¾-inch effort at the Husker Invitational last weekend. Chase Wolinski is the top-ranked woman; she's seventh in the javelin with a throw of 177-0 at the Texas Relays.
Nebraska's Jasmine Barge was named Big Ten women's track athlete of the week after winning three events at the Husker Spring Invitational. She won the 100-meter hurdles in 13.23 seconds, the 400 in :56.04 and was part of the winning 4x400 relay team.
