Led by the gymnastics teams, along with the wrestling and the women's swimming and diving teams, a total of 66 Nebraska student athletes earned academic All-Big Ten distinction for the winter season.
Nebraska senior gymnast Danielle Breen and Husker junior swimmer Lindsay Helferich were both honored for carrying 4.0 grade-point averages.
The Husker men's gymnasts had 15 earn academic All-Big Ten distinction, with nine Husker women's gymnasts also academic All-Big Ten. The Husker swimmer and divers had 19 honored, with 16 Husker wrestlers earning distinction. The women's basketball team had five academic All-Big Ten, with the Husker men's basketball team adding two.
To be eligible for academic all-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team and carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
