We start this year's edition of Recruit Watch with Calabraska.
Nebraska quarterback recruit Tristan Gebbia (Calabasas, California) was sharp in the Coyotes' 46-28 win against Agoura on Friday. Gebbia completed 23 of 31 passes for 322 yards and four touchdowns.
Three of those scoring strikes landed in the hands of five-star recruit Darnay Holmes, who finished with seven catches for 118 yards. NU recruit Keyshawn Johnson Jr., caught three passes for 60 yards and a touchdown.
"I believe Tristan Gebbia and I are the best wide receiver-quarterback combo in the state of California," Holmes told the Los Angeles Daily News.
Holmes, Gebbia and Johnson are visiting Nebraska this weekend for the Fresno State game. Holmes is considering Nebraska.

Speaking of visitors Saturday, another wideout prospect coming to Lincoln this weekend is Jamire Calvin (Los Angeles) of Cathedral High School. Calvin had a monster start to his prep season, finishing with eight catches for 231 yards and a touchdown in Cathedral's 40-15 win against Santa Fe.
Nebraska wide receiver recruit Jaevon McQuitty (Columbia, Missouri) made three catches for 88 yards and two touchdowns in a half of work. His team, Battle, defeated Holt 56-0.
Nebraska linebacker recruit Willie Hampton (Plantation, Florida) was in the national spotlight over the weekend. Hampton's team, American Heritage, beat Georgia powerhouse Colquitt County 17-14 on ESPN.
NU offensive line recruit Broc Bando (Lincoln via Bradenton, Florida) helped IMG Academy rack up 342 yards of total offense in a 26-7 win against Grayson (Georgia).
Jeremiah Hawkins (Buena Park, California) rushed for 103 yards and caught three passes for 57 yards in Buena Park's 63-6 win against Pasadena. Hawkins is committed to California, but is expected to visit Nebraska on Sept. 17, according to 24/7Sports.
Cameron Jurgens (Beatrice), a 2018 Husker recruit, caught a touchdown pass and had five tackles in the Orangemen's 47-21 win against Ralston.
