Nebraska announced 23 walk-on players last week on National Signing Day, but the 2019 class isn't done growing just yet.

Sutton lineman Garrett Nuss announced his verbal commitment on Monday night via Twitter, becoming the 25th known pledge to the group.

Nuss is listed at 6-foot-5 and 240 pounds and played offensive tackle for the C-2 program.

Nuss was first extended a walk-on offer at the Huskers' Home Grown event at Memorial Stadium on Dec. 5.

He was a first-team All-State pick in C-2 by the Journal Star as a senior. Nuss is also a standout basketball player and he is one of many in NU's 2019 walk-on class with a big, projectable frame that's capable of adding significant weight.

"Not every guy has to be an over (offensive or defensive) lineman, but I certainly think there’s a lot of those running around the Midwest and Nebraska," coach Scott Frost said of recruiting walk-ons last week. ... "They better have some really good athleticism about them and better have a high upside. If they do, we’ll get them in the weight room, with the right attitude and they’ll hit the field.”

The Huskers are also still expected to officially add Iowa Western offensive lineman Joshua Wegener to the program this summer, rounding out the 25 known members of the class.
