Nebraska vs. Ohio State, 11.3.18

Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez (2) celebrates his touchdown run against Ohio State late in the second quarter to give the Huskers a lead on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio. Martinez rushed for two touchdowns in the first half.

Adrian Martinez earned co-Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second time in three weeks for his performance in a 36-31 loss against Ohio State.

Martinez bounced back from an early turnover to compile 338 yards and three touchdowns on the day (two rushing).

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound rookie made a statement right from the start, carrying the ball seven times for 46 yards on the Huskers' game-opening scoring drive in the Horseshoe.

He led the NU offense to 450 yards for the sixth time this season, tying the most such outings in school history with three games still remaining in the regular season.

Martinez for the season has completed 66.2 percent of his passes for 1,922 yards and 12 touchdowns against six interceptions while rushing for 480 yards and six more scores. He is third in the Big Ten in total offense per game at 300.3 yards, trailing only Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins (344.2) and Purdue quarterback David Blough (307.3).

Martinez was also named co-freshman of the week after NU's blowout win over Minnesota two weeks ago.

This week, he shared the award with Gopher receiver Rashod Bateman, who had 173 receiving yards and two scores in a loss to Illinois.
