Nebraska keeps adding to its 2019 walk-on class, and the latest additions came from within the state borders.

Garrett Hustedt, a 6-foot-2, 220-pounder from Elkhorn Mount Michael, announced his verbal commitment to the Huskers on Monday morning.

Grand Island Central Catholic all-stater Jacob Herbek followed suit on Monday evening, announcing on Twitter that he, too, would be part of the 2019 class.

Hustedt finished his senior season with 102 tackles and nine sacks, according to his Hudl profile.

The Class B standout earned a walk-on offer from the Huskers in the middle of December — about one week after NU's walk-on event at Memorial Stadium — and ended up choosing to jump on it rather than several Division II offers, which included Truman State and others.

Hustedt attended camp in Lincoln over the summer and clearly did enough to impress the staff between then and his productive senior year.

Herbek is listed at 6-6 and 210 pounds and, like Hustedt, played defensive end and tight end.

Herbek was a popular Division II recruit, holding several scholarship offers and also drawing extensive FCS interest.

As a senior, he finished with 24 catches for 436 yards and two touchdowns in nine games and also piled up 72 tackles (23 for loss) and five sacks for the Crusaders, per MaxPreps.

Hustdet and Herbek make 19 members in the Huskers' walk-on class -- eight of which have already officially been added to the roster -- in a group that is expected to finish somewhere between 20 and 25 members. NU is clearly moving toward the finish line, as three players have jumped on board in the past three days. Loveland, Colorado, athlete Riley Kinney was the last to commit, announcing the move Saturday evening.
