NU vs. Wisconsin Football Features

Husker fans file their way into Memorial Stadium prior to the start of last October's Wisconsin game at Memorial Stadium.

The sales window is still open, although the number has been trimmed to about 1,400 remaining Husker football season tickets since roughly 2,000 unclaimed seats were put on sale to the public Wednesday morning.

The latest update was provided by an NU spokesman late Friday afternoon.

A year ago, there were still about 1,500 remaining tickets put on sale in mid-June. Those sold a little less than a day after being offered up to the public.

Last week, NU official Diane Mendenhall expressed confidence about the pace of sales as the Huskers try to keep a sellout streak of 347 games rolling along.

"We're really confident about where we're at right now, especially how well the process worked last year with doing the on-sale," said Mendenhall, NU's associate athletic director for development and ticket operations.

Ticket renewal rate this year was 94.5 percent during Nebraska's "Seat Yourself" process, about where it's been in previous years, although Mendenhall said student ticket purchases weren't quite at last year's pace.

Tickets can be purchased at www.huskers.com, by calling 1-800-8BIGRED, or by visiting the ticket office across from Memorial Stadium.
