Each of Nebraska's 10 assistant football coaches has been offered a contract extension and some have already signed, the NU athletic department confirmed to the Journal Star on Wednesday morning.

The rest are expected before long, but coaches are out on the road recruiting and some have not been in the office much in recent weeks.

Nebraska's 10 full-time assistants each received two-year deals when hired in December 2017 and began working here on a full-time basis in January 2018 after leading Central Florida to a Peach Bowl win.

It was not immediately clear if any of the coaches have been offered adjusted salaries from their original deals, but more information should be available once the process is complete.

It's not surprising everybody on staff was offered the chance to add a year to his contract, considering head coach Scott Frost often lauds the way his group works together and the recruiting that took place among the staff members to make sure that everybody made the jump together from Orlando to Lincoln.

The original pool for NU's assistants (and head strength coach Zach Duval) was $5 million, and the group came close to that number at $4,875,000.
